In-Spire is an electronic journal based at Keele University's Research Institute for Law, Politics and Justice.

We specialise in producing bi-annual issues based on original research across the social sciences..

Our core subject areas are:

  • all aspects of the environment in the social sciences, including environmental politics,
    environmental law, environmental sociology, et al.

  • law and legal studies
  • gender and sexuality
  • ethics
  • sociology
  • political and social philosophy

We welcome submissions on all of these themes. Please see the submission guidelines for details.
In-Spire also solicits book reviews broadly covering these subjects.

In-Spire began in 2003 as the in-house journal of the school of Politics, International Relations, the Environment and Philosophy (SPIRE) at Keele University. The journal has gradually been adapted to reflect the re-organisation of the university and changes in the academic environment in general.
